Attracting and Keeping Great Jobs and Companies

Summary

We all recognize that many great businesses (Boeing, Costco, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Weyerhaeuser, Paccar, and Starbucks - just to name a few) have been conceived and built in the Great Northwest.  In addition to these large companies, we have thousands of small businesses.

We need to ensure that our business climate is the friendliest in the country.  This means preventing the Legislature from passing bills that are onerous, restrictive, and unnecessary.  Apart from the apparent issues such as safety and environment, the Legislature should not be micromanaging business.  This will not only drive up costs but will also cause other companies to not locate here.

As Dino Rossi has aptly said, ""I want Washington state to be the worst place to be a criminal and the best place to start a business."

Proposal

Every bill brought before the Legislature that would place unnecessary and/or onerous burdens on business should be rejected.
