Gun Rights

Summary

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees that we have the right to bear arms individually.  Article I, Section 24 of the Washington State Constitution acknowledges that right.  This right should never be interpreted or understood as a privilege.  Because when it comes down to protecting our loved ones, our property, or ourselves, we need whatever means we consider necessary.

Proposal

Enforce and strengthen current laws so that those who use any type of firearm during the commission of a crime will be punished swiftly and harshly with a mandatory and lengthy prison sentence.

Additional comments

Law-abiding gun owners should never be penalized because someone else breaks the law while using a firearm.
