Gay Marriage

Summary

There is currently much debate concerning whether or not government-sanctioned marriage should include relationships other than one man/one woman; in particular two men or two women entering into a legally-sanctioned marriage relationship.  It should be noted that most Americans believe that marriage should not include relationships other than one man/one woman.

Proposal

Propose or support legislation that constitutionally defines marriage as an exclusive relationship between one man and one woman.  If it is not restricted to one man/one woman, how can we deny the same benefits to one man and two women?  To two men and one woman?  To a brother and a sister?  To a father and his daughter?  To a mother and her son?  Or to one man and twenty woman?

Additional comments

If the voters of Washington State want it mandated that marriage should be only between one man and one woman, that should be our right.  And if the voters mandate through voting that other relationships should be legally recognized as marriage, that should be our right also.  But it should not be and cannot be left up to activist judges to decide what we, the people, want and get.
